Dive into the fascinating world of indigo dyeing with our beginner-friendly workshop, and enjoy a combination of both Indigo dyeing & block printing.
What You'll Learn and Do:

Morning Session:
- Learn about the art of natural indigo dyeing using authentic indigo from India.
- Learn to set up your own indigo dye vat.
- Experiment with Shibori techniques, tying sample fabrics to create unique patterns.
- Choose your favorite Shibori design and dye a large cotton scarf or cushion cover.

Clemency calkin
Clemency Calkin works between Stroud and her studio in Bristol. She is an artist working predominantly with textiles, creating patchwork paintings that combine traditional sewing techniques with bold colour palettes.
Her works are a celebration of the many possibilities of cloth, and showcase the visual power of the so-called ‘domestic craft’ of needlework.
She loves to share her passion for patchwork and the transformative power of sewing. Through the simple act of cutting and piecing fabric together in various formations, one can play with pattern, colour theory, visual harmony and create something completely unique.
