Wecome to King Alfred Quilters

We are a friendly club that welcomes anyone with an interest in Quilting. Whether you're a beginner, an experienced quilter, or just interested in  getting together to sew, you'll find a supportive group to explore and develop your creativity.

5th November

Unfortunately Sarah Fernandez talk on long arm quilting has been cancelled

My name is Sara, and I grew up in Spain, where I learned the basics of sewing from my grandmother, a talented seamstress. When I was 16, I was volunteering in the school library and expressed an interest in learning how to quilt. The librarian responded, “Well, you’re in luck because I’m the president of the quilters’ guild!”—true story! She taught me traditional piecing, foundation paper piecing (FPP), and basic quilting skills, and I got to experiment with her extensive fabric stash.

Since then, quilting has been my main creative outlet. I love working with bright colors, fun prints, and especially big medallion quilts—they’re my favorite! I now live in Oxford, UK, where I teach quilting and share my passion for fabric with others.

“I absolutely love being a part of King Alfred Quilters! The community is so welcoming and supportive, and I have learned so much from the talented members. Highly recommend!”
